Your Grief Deserves Witnesses Who Understand the Weight You Carry

A sacred space where military loss doesn't need translation—it needs transformation.

You've carried impossible burdens with grace. You've learned to compartmentalize pain so you could function, lead, protect. But here's what no one tells you about grief after service:

Grief doesn't respond to military discipline. It responds to authentic feeling and witnessed healing.

Loss hits differently when you've served. The brotherhood bonds that can't be explained to civilians. The survivor's guilt that lives in your chest. The unique ache of losing someone who understood your service without needing a single word of explanation.

Traditional grief support wasn't designed for hearts that have carried the responsibility of protecting others. It misses the mark because it doesn't understand the sacred complexity of what you've experienced. However, the evidence-based program, THE GRIEF RECOVERY METHOD is different. It was founded and created by a Vietnam Veteran named John James (1944-2021). This is the program I walk with you through, alongside 8 of your brothers and sisters in arms.

What would it feel like to process your loss in a space where your military experience isn't something to translate—but something that's deeply understood and honored?

The Truth About Veterans and Healing

You've been trained to push through. To compartmentalize. To carry what others cannot carry. These are your strengths—and they can also be the very things that keep you stuck in grief.

What I know after years of this work is that veterans don't need to be convinced they deserve healing. They need a space that honors their service while meeting their grief with the same courage they brought to their mission. As a daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, veteran myself (OIF II, Iraq, Combat Medic), spouse of a veteran, and a long family history of veterans, I have been a witness to struggle; my own and that of others that often goes unspoken.

Your service mattered. Your loss matters. Your healing matters.

This group exists because you've earned the right to heal alongside people who don't need you to explain what it means to serve. Who understand that your grief carries the weight of brotherhood, sacrifice, and a calling that goes deeper than career.

What becomes possible when you no longer have to carry your grief alone?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the duration of the program?
The program runs for 9 weeks, meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings.
Who can join this group?
This group is exclusively for veterans seeking grief recovery support.
Is there an early bird discount?
Yes, register before September 1st to receive $75 off the program fee. No discount code needed. If you no longer see the reduced rate, you've missed the discount deadline.
What will I learn?
You will learn about grief in a way you've never learned; connecting dots from your past to your present, and bring to your awareness that which you've long buried.
What kind of support will I receive?
Throughout the program, I will be guiding and supporting everyone as a group, with breakout sessions being 1:1 with another veteran (your battle buddy), where I will pop in to ensure participants are staying on task. Everyone will receive support from me inbetween sessions.
What if I miss a session and what's included?
Participation is imperative, not only for your healing, but your battle buddy in the break-out sessions. The fee for the program includes all materials and is either due in full before (or the start of) week one or via payment plan at the time of agreement signature. A no-interest, installment plan option is also available via Affirm (subject to approval) at checkout.

Beyond week 2, the program is non-refundable whether you choose to attend all 9 sessions or not. The cancellation policy is as such that, should the client decide to drop out on or before week 2, all but $170 will be refunded.

Should the client not show up for two sessions (whether consecutive or not), the client will be dropped from the program, and the investment will apply to a future program, at which time the client will need to begin at week 1.
Is confidentiality maintained throughout the program?
Confidentiality is of utmost importance to me as your program facilitator. That being said, the safety and well-being of every veteran matters as well, and if I have concern over your safety or well-being, your emergency contact will be promptly notified.
What makes this program different from other grief support groups?
Everything. This program is evidence-based - it works! It is delivered in a timeframe of 9 weeks, following a framework that builds week after week, where you work on one relationship, whether the person is dead or alive, doesn't matter.
How much time can I expect to invest each week?
There is heartwork each week that includes reading from The Grief Recovery Handbook (paperback provided) and lesson heartwork. The time it takes will vary person to person, however, it is suggested to have at least 2 hours set aside in addition to the 2 hour weekly group session, so 4 hours per week, some weeks may require less time, this is an average.
Who is (and is not) a good fit for this program?
A veteran who is ready to invest in themselves, their healing, and are ready to do grief differently. If you desire to learn new tools and information (that will serve you far beyond this program) and are not currently experiencing a mental health crisis, which is outside of my scope of practice, this program is for you. If you are currently in therapy with a licensed therapist, I highly recommend and encourage you to share about this program with your therapist and invite you to also participate as GRM is a wonderful complimentary program alongside other mental health support.

Ready to Transform Your Relationship with Grief?

If you're reading these words, something inside you knows it's time. Time to stop carrying this alone. Time to honor your loss in a space that understands the sacred weight of service.

This isn't about moving on. It's about moving forward—with your whole heart, your full story, and the tools to transform what has felt like your greatest burden into your deepest source of strength.

"The program starts September 17th. Your healing starts the moment you say yes."
